For the shofar of Rosh Hashana:
one may not go past the techum — the Shabbos limit — for it,
and one may not clear away a heap of stones for it,
one does not climb a tree,
and does not ride on an animal,
and does not swim across the water,
and one may not cut it —
neither with something barred as a shevus, a rabbinic restriction,
nor with something barred by a lo saaseh, a Torah prohibition.
But if he wished to put water or wine into it —
he may.
One does not hold back the children from blowing,
and moreover one may busy oneself with them
until they learn.
And one who was merely fiddling with it — he has not fulfilled it,
and one who heard from such a fiddler — he has not fulfilled it.

This English is a clause-by-clause rendering to help you follow the Hebrew. It is not word-for-word literal, and it is not a transcript of the recorded shiur — the audio carries explanation and context the translation deliberately leaves out.
